Summer Reading 2008 at the Liberty County Library is quite exhilarating. 28 Jr. High students have signed up and 41 High School students are participating. It is quite fun to have book discussions with the students to get their viewpoints on the selection of books. One of the most popular books this summer is My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult. Other popular titles are Rifles for Watie, Kite Runner, Shutter Island, The Golden Compass, The Secret Life of Bees, Mr. Tucket, My Side of the Mountain and many others. It is refreshing to have students come into the library to have book discussions, instead of getting on the internet to play games.................
